The relationship between identity and iconography led me to delve into the visual language and the interpretation of the image.
The archetypes of our culture are present in our collective unconscious. There are many visual codes inside our popular culture, but if one observes one of these codes as such, without paying attention to the system, it becomes a cliché.
The symbolism of an image can be altered by grouping it together with other images. In this way its meaning (social, politic, religious) can be manipulated in order to create its own visual discourse.
These compositions intend to think about the images we perceive in our present culture and its collective meaning and also about how they are rooted in our society.
